The only problem is that I haven't had too much time to do that. In fact, yesterday I wasn't at the bar, I was behind it, because my bartender decided to sleep in very, very late. Like all day.
Tonight I went to a poetry reading at my friends' bar/restaurant, WTF, just a few blocks away from my shop on Sukhumvit Soi 51. I escaped the restaurant for exactly one and a half hours, for the first time, since we opened in early September. The night was inspiring in the way that sharing art should be -- the place was alive with a certain generosity and ease. And then, after about forty-five minutes, I became very uneasy. I had been away too long, and I needed to get back. I quickly sipped my beer, stepped out into the cool Bangkok night, and walked briskly back to the bar. And here I sit. Blogging. Thinking. Swimming in my thoughts.
